Industrial Welding Services (IWS) is a veteran-owned specialty mechanical contractor based in Essex, Maryland, serving industrial and commercial facilities throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Southern Pennsylvania. We specialize in critical welding, industrial process piping, pressure systems, and specialty mechanical services where quality, code compliance, and execution directly impact the reliability and safety of our customers’ operations.
Our work supports manufacturing facilities, healthcare campuses, mission-critical infrastructure, government facilities, power and utility providers, and other industrial operations where downtime is costly and failure is not an option. Whether supporting a planned shutdown, responding to an emergency repair, or fabricating complex piping systems, our focus remains the same: reducing risk through precision workmanship, disciplined quality control, and clear communication from start to finish.
At IWS, we have built a team of highly skilled union craftsmen who take pride in doing the job right the first time. As a UA Local 486 and UA Local 602 signatory contractor, we combine experienced field personnel with a quality-driven culture that emphasizes accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Industrial Welding Services was founded in 2023 by Army veteran and UA Local 486 Steamfitter/Welder Chris Neal with a clear vision: build a specialty mechanical contractor known for precision, accountability, and uncompromising quality.
After more than a decade in the pipe trades, Chris recognized that industrial facilities needed more than a contractor who could simply complete the work, they needed a partner they could trust with their most critical mechanical systems. From code welding and process piping to shutdown support and specialty fabrication, every project demands technical expertise, disciplined execution, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
That philosophy became the foundation of IWS. We have assembled a team of highly skilled union craftsmen who share the same values: integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in their work. We believe the true measure of a contractor is not the lowest price, but the confidence our customers have knowing their systems are built safely, meet code requirements, and will perform reliably for years to come.
